A chance to paint a custom Indian Motorcycle 2022 Chieftan?! Hells Yes, sign me up every time! To sweeten the project, the bike was to represent my favorite Minnesota Hockey Team. Working together with the creative team at Polaris was a dream and I'm so very excited to show you the process below.

It was an opportunity of a lifetime to spend time at Polaris HQ with the Industrial Design Department. I even got to glean the experience from some of the Masters. Steve Leszinski in the photo above is one of the greats. He came out of retirement to assist on this project. He has extensive knowledge of painting all sorts of action sports vehicles, plus paints, supplies, and brushes. I was a sponge trying to soak up as much info as I could. There's a ton of fun skills and tricks to learn to make the painting on the Indian Chieftain really pop and actually stick to the multiple surfaces on the motorcycle.

I think Polaris' Industrial Design department were shaking their heads when I came in with all of my acrylic paints and spray paint. We tested my supplies to make sure they'd work as a final application. They passed with flying colors, and three thick coats of automotive clear coat sealed up the art and make the entire bike look amazing.

Painting the Indian Motorcycle X Wild Hockey bike was one of my all-time favorite projects I've been honored to work on. Thank you Polaris, Indian Motorcycle and Wild Hockey!
