Happy Anniversary, MOA! Since opening its doors in 1992, Mall of America has revolutionized the shopping experience of tens of millions of visitors a year. ((Read that last part again, MILLIONS)) This leader in retail, entertainment and attractions, MOA is one of the top tourist destinations in the country and is known around the world.
As beverage partner, Pepsi Co. wanted to say thanks, and honor this anniversary the only way they knew how - in bold Pepsi colors. Enter in an Artist that can help with bold artwork.
This project had two facets, the above vinyl and a hand-painted representation of the original image to hang in MOA's corporate office. I started the oversized canvas in my studio and completed at the Private Anniversary event.
This was a fun project, working with Adventure Creative, for Explore Minnesota Tourism. Together we created an image to capture the essence of Minnesota, from the North Shore to the Southern Prairie. It wasn't an easy task! Can you spot your favorites?
This image became the the backdrop for Explore Minnesota Tourism at the Mall of America.
The Ackerberg Group enlisted Opus to construct Alvera, a 192-unit, 129,389-square-foot building in the iconic West 7th/Fort Road neighborhood in St. Paul. Opus was generous enough to think of my creative hand to commemorate the build with a commissioned image that was screen printed and gifted to Ackerberg.

Radio K wanted me to create a logo that would give them the flavor and feel of their original logo from '93. The new logo needed to incorporate things like their new call signals, their new color palette (blue), and have a coolness factor to it that "the kids" would respond to.
I was originally asked to create a bumper sticker design. So I took the feel of their original logo and added Joe Strummer's bass from the London Calling album to it and BOOM, there's a bumper sticker for you.
Radio K liked it so much that they decided to make a version of that bumper sticker their new logo. I did numerous version of it with and without the bass so they have plenty of options for any type of usage they want for their logo.
As the kids got cooler over at the station, they started to take the show on the road! Insert Turman to design their fleet - and over the years - 2 vehicles! What fun to wrap the vehicle in musical equipment, lightning bolts, stars, and broken records, and then give the upgrade a new look, too! An all-around fun project, and the end result proved to be very eye-catching when rolling around town or parked in front of a Radio K sponsored event!
Target, partnering w/ the United States Soccer Foundation (USSF) transformed a few older, dilapidated park spaces across the country into soccer pitches/fields that communities can use and enjoy. From the perspective that soccer is a gateway to life skills, the art installation is to give kids the feeling that when they play soccer every day, they feel better about themselves and what they did that day.
A dovetail to this project was a fan gift/photo booth with Minnesota United FC where Adam’s work was woven into a wool scarf and 3D photo booth. Go Loons!
]]>Never Regret, Chasing a Dream: 20 years ago, a couple of college-buddies-turned-home-brewers, Mike Stevens and Dave Engbers, dropped everything they had to chase their dreams. Armed with a shared obsession for beer, endless ambition, and not much else, they knew following their passion was the only way to ensure that they’d never look back on their lives and ask, “What if?”
Adam was of the artists selected to participate in Founders Brewery's 20th anniversary celebration.
Like so many "jobs" that have become life-long friends, I was thrilled when Founders reached out again in 2019 for the "Chase Your What If" campaign. Try not to cry when you watch the promo video. Together we created an illustration to define their story for a distribution truck wrap.
For The Most Amazing People On Earth Adam's ongoing collaborations with the Children's Hospital of MN keeps growing and brightening. These playful designs are curated around the goal of helping kid's feel calm and positive in times they need it. The designs were specifically made for four different vehicles owned and operated by the hospital. As the reach of the Children's Fleet continues to grow, Adam continues to partner with this amazing community.
While Minneapolis hosted the LII Super Bowl in January 2018, super star clients, Briggs and Morgan, underwent an exciting launch of their new brand executed by design and branding agency Little & Company - Celebrating 135 years of Minnesota Milestones.
In the past Adam has collaborated with the attorneys at Briggs on numerous projects including local band posters such as Morris Day and The Time, Jayhawks, and The Suburbs. Adam was also brought on to help design the walls of Briggs' Twins Suite at Target Field.
For this project, Adam's role was to create special edition screen prints to be gifted to Briggs clientele during the Big Game. This seven color print includes fun-loving components of Minnesotan icons, notable architecture and of course football - Skol!
"With all eyes on Minnesota for the big game at U.S. Bank Stadium, Briggs and Morgan revealed its new brand identity in connection with the Firm’s role in helping make the stadium a reality for its client, the Minnesota Vikings. The brand launch also celebrates the firm’s 135th anniversary and a long history of helping shape significant Minnesota milestones. This screen print was commissioned in partnership with Wolf Tooth Components in Minneapolis MN to celebrate their 5 year anniversary.
Wolf Tooth engineers resiliently reliable products that assist hard core cyclers to perform more efficiently. Adam was completely in his element when illustrating this project and picked up a beautiful custom Warakin bike in return.
The new American Standard branded restrooms in the Atlanta Braves SunTrust Park showcase colorful murals from popular Midwest artist Adam Turman, blending aesthetics of the iconic plumbing brand and the longest continuously operating franchise in Major League Baseball.
Adam was recently hired by Solve Ideas to work with their clients American Standard and the Atlanta Braves to create new graphics for their restroom renovation. American Standard, part of the LIXIL Corporation, announced the opening of customized branded restrooms at SunTrust Park – home of the Atlanta Braves – in time for the 2018 baseball season.
Interesting factoids about water usage and SunTrust Park are displayed in the American Standard branded restrooms on the main level of the ballpark. Ultimately, the graphics commit to the mission of providing high-style to this modern sports facility while helping the organization to save money through the durable and water-efficient fixtures.
In conjunction with Target, Sandstrom Partners worked to create a nutritionally educated lunch program for children. Included in each lunch would be an 18 x 24 art poster, (!) designed by Adam, that had the lunch nutritional facts on the back.
The images had to be bright, trendy and fun ultimately a product that kids want to keep and put up in their room. The theme's content related back to a healthy lifestyle and being aware of the ingredients in your food.

Graphic Packaging reached out to Adam to create an on-brand image to be installed at their display at the 2017 Drink Tech Conference held in Germany. As a global provider of sustainably focused packaging products, this was a main concept in Adam's work. Mother Nature herself provided most of the inspiration and source for packaging materials.
]]>Adam partnered with Dani Daniels, aka The Cookie Lady, to create graphics and a brand to communicate the YUM and cuteness factor that the Cookie Store MN is all about. Nearly 20 years ago Dani started making decorated cookies and treats for friends and family. What started as a hobby has evolved into an exciting full-time business venture. The Sugar Cube (pictured above) is the home of many of these adorable characters.
Work completed for Cookie Store is a prime example of branding that Adam executed as a designer and continues to build upon as the cookie business grows. Starting with themed graphics, these images have branched into the creation of vehicle wraps, professional packaging, an iconic logo, & of course, cookies!
This relationship continues to grow as Dani Daniels has grown out of The Sugar Cube and into a retail storefront in Watertown, MN. Adam was thrilled to help create window clings and in-store graphics to define this fun brand.

In November 2014 Adam was lucky enough to be chosen as the commemorative poster artist for the 2015 Minnesota State Fair. After several months of work, the piece was finally unveiled on the fairgrounds in June 2015.
Showcasing the historic street car arch entrance, the Ferris wheel, and the Grandstand, this print combines Adam’s signature bold colors and graphics with nostalgic, vintage charm for a fresh, yet classic, artistic interpretation of the Great Minnesota Get-Together. A limited number of artworks is still available for purchase. Proceeds support the Minnesota State Fair Foundation 501(c)(3) mission to preserve and improve State Fair buildings, grounds and educational programs.
MNOriginal did an amazing job capturing the process in this video. Check it out below!

When asked to create a Minneapolis music related, large format image-- Pandora came to the right artist. Given free reign on inspiration, Adam chose to model Babe after his favorite, Bruce Dickenson-- and Paul is none other than Johnny Ramone!
Featured in Twin Cities Biz Journal as a cool new office space is Pandora Internet Radio's Minnesota office, which reflects local style.
"In the office's video conference room, a 1970s Bob Dylan ticket stub is enlarged on the wall. The "Purple Room," inspired by Prince’s Purple Rain, provides a quiet alcove for individual work or small meetings. An office wall features a mural of Paul Bunyan and Blue in concert by Minneapolis-based artist Adam Turman. A plaid carpet and cabin-like conference rooms adds further Minnesota touches." - Rachel Siegel – Staff Writer, Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal
In 2015, Adam designed the cover for the annual Star Tribune's Taste 50. This event features local food and business of the Twin Cities. New that year was the Betty Danger's notable ferris wheel. Specialty food trucks were beginning to appear more. Adam highlights several artisan food choices of that year including cheeses, ice-cream and donuts. Feast your eyes!
One of many projects Adam has partnered with the Star Tribune, below are a few more samples of custom illustrations.

Kramarczuk's Sausage Company is a landmark of old-world tasty goodness in Northeast Minneapolis. They've been around since 1954, and are family-owned/operated. They're great people making great stuff. In 2010 they created a Kielbasa Festival in old-world style and sell sausages, perogies, and other foods from their deli, and, of course, craft beer. Each year the festival has a Kielbasa contest. There have been winners such as the Tater Tot Hotdish Kielbasa, and the Wild Rice Kielbasa... both of which were very yummy in the tum-tum. Surly Brewing Company even partnered with Kramarczuk's to make a Damf Bier Steam Ale, amazing!
I was asked to create the illustration for the festival starting in 2010, and have since reprinted various color variants for successive years, and redesigned the look of the event in 2013. Above are images from print from past through present as well as some process pics.
Kramarczuk's also mixes their own Mustard and Curry Ketchup and they reached out to yours truly to create labels for these products. Thankfully, they left the samples on my kitchen counter!

]]>Sierra Nevada Brewing of Chico, CA is one of the largest craft breweries in the US. Working with their in-house art director, Adam was contracted to help with the “Bring A Celebration Home” campaign, designed to promote the fresh hop ale Celebration.
Above is the process from the Sierra Nevada in-house art direction, from sketch to final art. The final promotions were in the form of interactive promos and in-store displays.
We always get excited when Peace Coffee (PC) calls. As an part of their early creative, it's always fun to be a part of their new design directions.
Here's samples for their Breakaway Blend and Brew the Right Bean screen prints. Coffee and speedy-looking illustrations are right up our alley! Other samples shown include Pocket Map Illustrations.
Peace Coffee had a film crew come out and film us printing the final color on the Breakaway Blend screen print. Below are a couple of videos they made of the process. Great work 612im and Peace Coffee.

Here are a few covers Adam illustrated for Bicycle Times Magazine. They are a super cool outfit and part of the Dirt Rag family. Adam was fortunate enough to work with a really great art director who's not afraid to work with an illustrator's style and make each cover look great.

Billed as ‘ A Poster Party for Bike People,’ ARTCRANK has been bringing bicycle-inspired art to cities across the United States and abroad since 2007. I’ve had the good fortune to participate in every Minneapolis event and am their top selling artist of all time. As a result, ARTCRANK has also commissioned me (and or included me) in some of the other promotional events – including gigs with Velib bike-share in Paris and Shinola from Detroit.
Adam's relationship with Curt's Salsa started as most do, with a chat for a promo screen print for their brand. That was 2013, skip forward to present day and the gallery of work for this relationship has created has been creative, and fun and mutually rewarding.
Its worth the taste if you haven't had Curt's Salsa, you'll find it on the shelf at your favorite grocery- Team Turman gives it a thumbs up! The salsa and all varieties rivals Grandma's home made-- and that's due to the small batch quality and secret family recipes.
Mack Trucks are an icon of the American roadway. In 2012, Mack Trucks commissioned a custom illustration from Adam to commemorate the delivery of the national Christmas tree from the White River National Forest to the Capitol lawn in Washington D.C. Read more in the news here>>

And that's what the BBS is all about. Making establishments who serve/sell beer even better at it. They reached out to Adam to create a logo which is used on everything from their website, online promotions, posters, flyers, and merchandise.
