If you have ever ridden your bike from the city through farmlands, and into the open prairie, you will connect with this painting. After taking a ride far enough to get lost on roads and trails you have never seen before, you then have earned your "Champion Stripes".

Champion was originally created for the 2015 Artcrank Minneapolis show as a screen print. It's one of my favorite images I've created. I feel that the print version has a perfect balance of both illustration and design qualities. I've wanted to recreate the print as a painting and the Inktober 2022 prompt: Farm, gave me the a great excuse to make that happen.
