I've heard that the "Watchtower" in the song "All Along the Watchtower" written by Dylan and performed by Hendrix, referred to the Witch's Hat in Prospect Park in Minneapolis, MN. I'm going to believe it to be the origin whether it's true or not. I don't remember where or who I heard that from, but dang it, that sounds super cool (just like the song). Rock and roll!
