Remember road trips as a kid?
When my wife was a kid, she road-tripped with her family in an extended Chevy Carprice Classic Station Wagon. So cool. They'd have the jump seat in the back that faced backwards, and no seat belts of course (it was a different time!).
They had a luggage rack on the roof, and they had a bunch of new red luggage. This is before there were the fancy car top carriers that are waterproof. They took an infamous family road trip vacation and it rained heavily on one of their lengths. The luggage was soaked and everyone's clothes turned pink. I believe they spent a lot of time in an off-the-highway laundromat.
But that's what road trips are all about right? Making memories. both super fun and maybe no so fun at the time, but hopefully you can look back and smile and even laugh.
This painting is inspired by all those fun road trips we took as kids making memories.
